March 4, 2024: Klondike Cruisers Association Announces Scoping Study for a Motorsport Park in Yukon
Whitehorse, Yukon – The Klondike Cruisers Association, with support from the Department of Economic Development Community Development Fund, is excited to announce the initiation of a high-level scoping study aimed at exploring the potential development of a Motorsport Park in the Yukon. This initiative reflects our commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities and fostering community engagement in the region.
A Motorsport Park is a specialized venue designed to accommodate a wide array of motor racing activities, including car, motorcycle, go-kart, and potentially off-roading and motocross. During the winter months, the facility could be adapted for snowmobile races. Beyond hosting competitive events, the proposed park aims to provide facilities for driver training, vehicle testing, and offer amenities for spectators, positioning itself as a central hub for motorsport enthusiasts. These parks, depending on design, can also host other outdoor spectator sports or community events.
The park is envisioned as a safe, controlled environment that caters to both competitive racers and recreational users, promoting motorsports within a framework of community safety and enjoyment.
We Need Your Input To ensure the development of the Motorsport Park aligns with community interests and needs, the Klondike Cruisers Association is seeking the invaluable input of Yukon residents and businesses. We have designed a detailed survey to gather your thoughts, preferences, and any concerns you might have regarding the project. This includes the types of facilities you desire, how you envision utilizing the park, and its anticipated impact on the community.
The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and will be open until March 31, 2024. All responses remain confidential. We are committed to incorporating your feedback into the planning and development phases to create a facility that reflects our community’s aspirations and concerns.
The Klondike Cruisers Association, looks forward to your participation and support in bringing this exciting project to life. Together, we can create a vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic Motorsport Park that serves the interests of all Yukon residents.
